Ingredients

  • To Prepare Doughnuts
    • Instant yeast - 2 1/4 teaspoons
    • Whole milk heated to 105-112°F  - 1Cup
    • Granulated sugar - 1/4 Cup
    • Large egg - 1
    • Vegetable shortening - 1/4 Cup
    • Vanilla extract - 1teaspoon
    • All-purpose flour - 2 and 1/2 cups
    • Kosher salt - 1/2 teaspoon
    • Vegetable shortening, for frying - 4 Cups
  • To Prepare Glaze
    • Confectioners’ sugar - 2 Cups
    • Light corn syrup - 1tsp
    • Milk - 1/4 cup
    • Kosher salt - 1/8 teaspoon
    • Vanilla extract -1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  • 1 Preparation Process of Doughnuts
    • 1 Take a large bowl and add the ingredients like yeast, sugar, milk, eggs, vanilla, shortening, and half flour.
    • 2 Mix the ingredients well by using the mixer, or whisker. And the dough should be sticky and loose. And do not over mix.
    • 3 Next, keep the dough in a bowl and leave it for 1 hr or more based on the time you have. But leave it in a warm place.
    • 4 Once the time is up, take out the dough and place it on a clean smooth surface and roll it with rolling it by adding some flour not to stick.
    • 5 Just take the round shape cutter and cut the doughnuts. And keep a hole in the middle. You can use 2-inch and 1-inch cutters.
    • 6 Line the baking sheet with parchment paper and place the doughnuts on it without touching each other.
    • 7 Now, to rise the doughnuts leave it for 40 minutes to 1 hr.
    • 8 After 1 hr take the cast iron skillet and heat the shortening at 375 degrees F.
    • 9 Fry the doughnuts on the skillet without overcrowding them.
    • 10 Finally, remove them after frying in the oil until golden brown.
  • 2 Preparation of Glaze
    • 1 To prepare the glaze, take a saucepan that is wide and place it on the stove on medium heat, and then include all the glaze ingredients in it and whisk it well until the sugar dissolves. And turn off the stove and set it aside.
    • 2 Make the glaze not too thick. If it is thickened at any cost, add some milk to it.
  • 3 Combining Doughnuts with Glaze
    • 1 Once after completion of frying doughnuts, take them and place them on wire cooling rack and pour the glaze on the doughnut. Enjoy them immediately.
