Ingredients for fresh homemade Olive Garden Breadstick with Garlic Topping
- Active Dry Yeast: 2 1/4 Teaspoons, (1 packet)
- Warm Water (110°F / 45°C): 1 1/2 cups
- All-purpose Flour: 4 Cups
- Granulated Sugar: 2 Tablespoons ( or as per taste)
- Salt: 1 1/2 Teaspoon (or as per taste)
- Unsalted butter, softened: 6 Tablespoons
- Garlic Powder: 1/2 Teaspoons
- Dried Parsley Flakes: 1/4 Teaspoons
Instructions
-
1 Direction To prepare Olive Garden Breadstick with Garlic Topping
- 1 Dissolve the active dry yeast in warm water in a small bowl and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. Combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- 2 Add the softened butter and the yeast mixture to the dry ingredients.
- 3 Mix everything until a soft and smooth dough forms.
- 4 Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead it for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes elastic and no longer sticky.
- 5 After kneading, transfer the dough to a lightly greased bowl and cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap.
- 6 Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free place for approximately 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
- 7 Set your oven to preheat at 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Next, punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal portions.
- 8 Roll each portion into a 9-inch (23 cm) long breadstick and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- 9 Cover the breadsticks with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
- 10 Bake the risen breadsticks in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
- 11 In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, garlic powder, dried parsley flakes, and a pinch of salt.
- 12 Once the breadsticks are baked, immediately brush the tops with the garlic butter mixture while they're still warm.
