Ingredients

  • Ingredients for fresh homemade Starbucks Chocolate Croissant
    • All-Purpose Flour: 2 1/4 Cups
    • Granulated Sugar: 1/4 Cup
    • Active Dry Yeast (About 2 1/4 Teaspoons): 1 Packet
    • Salt: 1/2 Teaspoon
    • Unsalted Butter, Cold And Cubed: 3/4 Cup
    • Cold Milk: 3/4 Cup
    • Chocolate Chips Or Chopped Chocolate (Dark Or Semi-Sweet): 1 Cup
    • Egg, Beaten (For Egg Wash): 1
    • Powdered sugar: (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  • 1 Prepare the Dough
    • 1 Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and cut it into the dry ingredients using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • 2 Add Milk: Gradually add the cold milk and gently mix until the dough comes together. Do not overmix.
    • 3 Knead Dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it forms a cohesive ball. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight (about 12 hours).
  • 2 Shape and Assemble
    • 1 Roll Out Dough: On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
    • 2 Add Chocolate: Sprinkle the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate evenly over half of the dough.
    • 3 Fold and Seal: Fold the other half of the dough over the chocolate-covered half. Gently press the edges together to encase the chocolate.
