- Chicken wings: 20 pieces (about 4 lbs)
- All-purpose flour: 1 cup
- Corn-starch: 1/2 cup
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1 teaspoon (As per taste)
- Black pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika: 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Cold water: 1 cup
- Vegetable oil: for frying
Instructions
-
1 Direction To prepare Batter-dipped & Fried Chicken Wing, with skin At home
- 1 Preheat Oil: Fill a deep fryer or a heavy pot with vegetable oil to a depth of about 2-3 inches. Preheat the oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 2 Prepare Chicken Wings: Rinse the chicken wings and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 3 Combine Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- 4 Make Batter: Gradually add cold water to the dry mixture, whisking until a smooth batter forms. The batter's texture should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
- 5 Dip Chicken Wings: Dip each chicken wing into the batter, ensuring it's fully coated.
- 6 Fry Chicken Wings: Carefully place the battered chicken wings into the preheated oil. Cook them in smaller groups to prevent overcrowding the frying area. Fry for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the wings are golden brown and crispy. The chicken's internal temperature should register at 165°F (74°C).
- 7 Drain and Rest: Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried chicken wings from the oil. Put them on a wire rack or a plate covered with paper towels to remove any excess oil. Allow them to rest for a few minutes.
- 8 Serve: Your homemade batter-dipped and fried chicken wings are now ready to be served.
