Everyone loves fries as a side dish, using this easy recipe you can prepare McDonald's French fries at home.

Ingredients

  • Cold Water : 8 Cups
  • Sugar : 1/3 Cup
  • Salt : 3 tbsp
  • White Vinegar : 1 tbsp
  • Large Potatoes : 6
  • Salt
  • Vegetable Oil : 1-quart
  • Vegetable Shortening : 1/2 cup

Instructions

  • 1 Combine salt, sugar, white venegar into cold water in a large bowl.
  • 2 Peel and rinse the potatoes in cool water then Cut them into 12 inch threads.
  • 3 Soak the fries in the brine, making sure they are well submerged. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  • 4 Drain the brine and thoroughly rinse the fries with water. Place them on paper towels to completely dry.
  • 5 In a Dutch oven, heat the oil. Fry the fries for 5 minutes when the temperature reaches 300°F. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to dry.
  • 6 Add the shortening to the oil and heat them to 400°F. Now fry the fries until there color changes to golden brown.
  • 7 Remove the fries with the help of a spotted spone and place them on a paper towel to drain. Serve with the seasoning of your choice.
