1 Direction To prepare 93% Lean Ground Turkey (7% Fat), raw At home
- 1 Sauté Aromatics: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and diced red bell pepper. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.
- 2 Add Garlic and Spices: Stir in the minced garlic, ground cumin, ground paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 1 minute until the spices become fragrant.
- 3 Cook Ground Turkey: Push the onion and pepper mixture to the sides of the skillet, creating a space in the center. Add the 93% lean ground turkey to the center. Break it up with a spatula and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the turkey is fully cooked and no longer pink.
- 4 Combine and Finish: Mix the cooked turkey with the sautéed vegetables until well combined. Allow the flavors to meld together for another 2-3 minutes on low heat.
- 5 Taste and Adjust: Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
- 6 Serve: Once fully cooked and seasoned to your liking, remove the skillet from the heat. Serve the flavorful 93% lean ground turkey mixture on its own or as a filling for tacos, lettuce wraps, or whole wheat tortillas.
- 7 Garnish (Optional): If desired, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley or cilantro over the dish just before serving. This adds a burst of freshness and color to the meal.
