Ingredients
-
Ingredients for fresh homemade Beef Sirloin Steak, lean only, broiled
- Lean Beef Sirloin Steaks (about 6-8 ounces each): 2
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon (or as per taste)
- Black pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
- Garlic powder: 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Fresh herbs (such as rosemary or thyme, for garnish, optional)
Instructions
-
1 Direction To prepare Beef Sirloin Steak, lean only, broiled At home
- 1 Preheat Broiler: Adjust your oven's rack to the highest position and preheat the broiler on high.
- 2 Prepare Steaks: Pat the lean beef sirloin steaks dry with paper towels. This helps to ensure a good sear during broiling.
- 3 Season: Brush each side of the steaks with olive oil. Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and garlic powder (if using) evenly on both sides, pressing the seasoning gently onto the meat.
- 4 Broil: Place the seasoned steaks on a broiler pan or a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Ensure there's about 2-3 inches of space between the steaks and the broiler element.
- 5 Broil First Side: Slide the steaks under the preheated broiler. Cook the first side for about 4-6 minutes, depending on the thickness of the steaks and your desired level of doneness. For a medium-rare finish, target an internal temperature between 130-135°F (54-57°C).
- 6 Flip and Broil Second Side: Gently flip the steaks and cook the second side for an additional 4-6 minutes, or until the desired internal temperature is reached.
- 7 Rest: Once cooked to your preferred doneness, remove the steaks from the broiler and transfer them to a plate. Let the steaks rest for a brief period. This helps to redistribute the juices and ensures a juicy and flavorful outcome.
- 8 Slice and Serve: After resting, slice the beef sirloin steaks against the grain into thin strips. If desired, garnish with fresh herbs such as rosemary or thyme before serving.
