Ingredients

  • Ingredients for fresh homemade McDonald's Sweet Tea
    • Water: 4 cups
    • Regular-sized Tea Bags (black tea): 4-6 (as per preference)
    • Granulated Sugar: 3/4 cups or as per taste
    • Lemon slices or mint leaves (optional): for garnish
    • Ice Cubes (optional): 4-6

Instructions

  • 1 Direction To prepare McDonald's Sweet Tea At home
    • 1 Heat 4 cups of water in a saucepan or kettle until it comes to a rolling boil. Once boiling, take the saucepan or kettle off the heat and place the tea bags into the hot water. Let them steep for 5 minutes. Adjust the steeping time according to your taste preference; a longer steeping time will result in a stronger tea flavour.
    • 2 Once the steeping process is complete, take out the tea bags from the water.
    • 3 While the tea is still hot, add granulated sugar to the brewed tea. Thoroughly stir until the sugar is fully dissolved, and feel free to adjust the amount of sugar based on your desired level of sweetness.
    • 4 If you prefer to serve the tea cold, let the sweetened tea cool to room temperature. Then, transfer it to the refrigerator and chill for 1-2 hours before serving.
    • 5 To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes (if serving cold) and pour the sweet tea over them.
    • 6 Optionally, garnish the tea with lemon slices or mint leaves for an extra touch of flavour and presentation.
