Ingredients

  • Ingredients for Rice Krispies (Kellogg's) Treats, Original Bar
    • Unsalted butter : 3/4 Cup
    • Mini marshmallows : 2 10-ounce bags
    • Vanilla extract : 1/2 Teaspoon
    • Salt : pinch
    • Crispy rice cereal : 9 Cups

Instructions

  • 1 Direction to make Rice Krispies (Kellogg's) Treats, Original Bar
    • 1 Using parchment paper, line a baking pan. Grease the parchment paper lightly. I always sprinkle a very thin mist of nonstick spray on the pan. Place aside.
    • 2 Take a large pot, add butter to it, and melt it over medium heat. Add the marshmallows once the butter has melted. Until the marshmallows are completely melted, stir them continuously.
    • 3 Remove from the heat and mix in the vanilla essence and salt right away. Fold in the cereal last. Make sure to coat each piece of cereal with the marshmallow mixture.
    • 4 Pour the ingredients into the prepared pan. Spread the ingredients into the pan with a rubber spatula (lightly greasing helps). Grease the back of a flat spatula lightly and gently press the mixture into the pan. Compress it down softly until it is secure in the pan, but do not compress it down tightly.
    • 5 Allow treats to set at room temperature for at least 1 hour and up to 1 day. If leaving out for longer than a few hours, cover firmly.
    • 6 Using the parchment paper edges, lift the rice krispie treats out of the pan. Make squares out of the leftovers.
    • 7 Cover leftover goodies and keep them at room temperature for up to 3 days. To keep them, put sheets of parchment or wax paper between layers in an airtight container.
