Ingredients

Ingredients for fresh homemade Dunkin' Old Fashioned Donut
- All-Purpose Flour: 2 Cups
- Granulated Sugar: 1/2 Cup
- Baking Powder: 2 Teaspoons
- Salt: 1/2 Teaspoon
- Ground Nutmeg: 1/4 Teaspoon
- Whole Milk: 1/2 cup
- Large Eggs: 2
- Unsalted Butter, melted: 2 tablespoons
- Pure Vanilla Extract: 1 Teaspoon
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)
Instructions
-
1 Direction To prepare Dunkin' Old Fashioned Donut At home
- 1 Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground nutmeg in a large bowl, whisking them together.
- 2 In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- 3 Slowly incorporate the wet ingredients into the dry ones, gently stirring until they are just combined. Be cautious not to overmix; the dough should have a slightly sticky texture. Wrap the dough with plastic wrap and allow it to rest in the refrigerator for approximately 30 minutes.
- 4 While the dough is resting, heat about 2 inches of oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- 5 On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch. Use a donut cutter or a round cookie cutter to cut out donuts. You can use the back of a piping tip to make the centre hole.
- 6 Carefully slide the cut donuts into the hot oil, frying them in batches of 2-3 at a time. Cook for approximately 2-3 minutes on each side until they achieve a golden brown and crispy texture. Utilize a slotted spoon to move the fried donuts onto a plate lined with paper towels, allowing any excess oil to drain.
- 7 Allow the donuts to cool slightly before glazing or coating them with powdered sugar if desired.
- 8 Enjoy your Homemade Dunkin' Old Fashioned Donuts with a cup of coffee or your favourite beverage!
