Ingredients

  • Ingredients for fresh homemade Dunkin' Old Fashioned Donut
    • All-Purpose Flour: 2 Cups
    • Granulated Sugar: 1/2 Cup
    • Baking Powder: 2 Teaspoons
    • Salt: 1/2 Teaspoon
    • Ground Nutmeg: 1/4 Teaspoon
    • Whole Milk: 1/2 cup
    • Large Eggs: 2
    • Unsalted Butter, melted: 2 tablespoons
    • Pure Vanilla Extract: 1 Teaspoon
    • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola oil)

Instructions

  • 1 Direction To prepare Dunkin' Old Fashioned Donut At home
    • 1 Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground nutmeg in a large bowl, whisking them together.
    • 2 In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
    • 3 Slowly incorporate the wet ingredients into the dry ones, gently stirring until they are just combined. Be cautious not to overmix; the dough should have a slightly sticky texture. Wrap the dough with plastic wrap and allow it to rest in the refrigerator for approximately 30 minutes.
    • 4 While the dough is resting, heat about 2 inches of oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
    • 5 On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch. Use a donut cutter or a round cookie cutter to cut out donuts. You can use the back of a piping tip to make the centre hole.
    • 6 Carefully slide the cut donuts into the hot oil, frying them in batches of 2-3 at a time. Cook for approximately 2-3 minutes on each side until they achieve a golden brown and crispy texture. Utilize a slotted spoon to move the fried donuts onto a plate lined with paper towels, allowing any excess oil to drain.
    • 7 Allow the donuts to cool slightly before glazing or coating them with powdered sugar if desired.
    • 8 Enjoy your Homemade Dunkin' Old Fashioned Donuts with a cup of coffee or your favourite beverage!
